
INDIAN SPACE SCIENCE OLYMPIAD 2026
The Indian Space Science Olympiad (ISSO) 2026 is a prestigious national-level quiz competition on India’s achievements in Space Science and Technology for students of Grades 5–12. ISSO is organized by Edu Mithra Intellectual Services Pvt. Ltd. with the mission of attracting and encouraging young minds to explore the field of space science and enhance their aptitude in Astronomy, Space Research, Satellite Technology, and related scientific advancements. The Olympiad aims to promote scientific temper, bring healthy academic competition among students across India, and provide an opportunity to interact with renowned personalities and experts in the space sector.
Structure of ISSO Examination:
Preliminary Round – Qualifying Exam (Online):
The Preliminary Round is conducted online through a webinar-based format. In this round, the candidate and facilitator will be connected virtually. Once connected, the facilitator will share the question paper digitally, and the candidate will read each question along with its options and orally communicate the correct answer to the examiner. The examiner will record the responses in the official exam portal. The Preliminary Round consists of 30 multiple choice questions based on the prescribed Space Science syllabus and related topics. The total duration of the ISSO online exam is 10 minutes. Negative marking will be applied for each incorrect answer.
ISSO Final Examination (Offline) – 27th, 28th and 29th December 2026:
Students who qualify in the Preliminary Round will be eligible to participate in the Final Examination, which will be conducted offline on 27th, 28th, and 29th December 2026. Prior to the final examination, a three-day intensive offline workshop will be conducted by subject experts for the selected candidates. The workshop will include advanced sessions, conceptual discussions, and interactive learning on Space Science and India’s space missions. The Final Examination will be based on both the official ISSO syllabus and the topics covered during the workshop, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of knowledge and understanding.
